“I know it’s Thursday, but this is not a TBT. #BackOnSet #TVDForever”.

The beloved Nina Dobrev announced her return to the hit TV series Vampire Diaries, through an Instagram post with the above caption last week.

Said Instagram post was a photo of the series finale script and the episode is titled ‘I Was Feeling Epic’.

It was reported on MTV News that Dobrev left the TV series at the end of its sixth season, to pursue other projects. She told MTV in 2015 that she didn’t want to “be identified only by this one thing”.

With Dobrev’s announcement, fans can rest assured that their favourite vampire Elena Gilbert will return to Mystic Falls.

Fans of the xXx movies might consider this good news as it has been announced that the latest installment in the film series will be released on January 20, 2017 by Paramount Pictures.

Written by Chad St. John (London Has Fallen) & F. Scott Frazier (Collide) and directed by D. J. Caruso (I Am Number Four), xXx: The Return of Xander Cage stars Vin Diesel and features a lot of extreme stunts and rock music like the original movie. The first movie in the series which stars Vin Diesel in the role of an extreme sports professional-turned-spy for the National Security Agency (NSA), was released in 2002 and directed by Rob Cohen (The Fast and the Furious). It reportedly grossed over $244 million worldwide off a $70 million budget and was followed by a 2005 sequel entitled xXx: State of the Union. Diesel is expected to reprise the role in the threequel, albeit he was not involved in the sequel, while Samuel L. Jackson reprises his role as NSA agent Augustus Gibbons.

The cast also includes Bollywood’s Deepika Padukone, Nina Dobrev (Vampire Diaries), Ruby Rose (Orange Is The New Black), Rory McCann, Tony Jaa, Neymar and Donnie Yen among others. Jet Li was reportedly cast in the role of a villain but he later dropped out to be replaced with Yen.
