The third season of the ABC hit TV drama series How to Get Away with Murder returned last night. It was reported that the TV series was renewed for a third season on March 3, 2016. Created by Peter Nowalk and produced by Shonda Rhimes, How to Get Away with Murder Season 3 has 15 episodes and each episode will be aired every Thursday night at 10.00pm ET/PT.

Award-winning actress, Viola Davis reprises her lead role as Annalise Keating, criminal defense attorney and law professor at Middleton University whose cheating husband Sam and his mistress Lila, were murdered in the first season.

Also returning with Keating are the five students she hired as interns in her law firm: Wesley Gibbons (Alfred Enoch), Michaela Pratt (Aja Naomi King), Asher Millstone (Matt McGorry), Connor Walsh (Jack Falahee) and the idealistic Laurel Castillo (Karla Souza). The third season cast also includes Oliver Hampton as Conrad Ricamora, Walsh’s partner who doubles as a computer technician and hacker, Charlie Weber as Frank Delfino, Keating’s special employee, among others.

Davis shared a promotional poster of the third season last month on Facebook with the caption “Are you all caught up yet? #HTGAWM Season 3 premieres on Thursday, Sept 22nd at 10PM! #AnnaliseKeating #TGIT”.

The anti-superhero movie hits movie theatres on August 5, 2016. Written & directed by David Ayer and based on the DC Comics anti-hero team Suicide Squad, Suicide Squad stars Will Smith, Viola Davis, Margot Robbie, James Leto, Adewale Akinnuoye Agbaje,  Cara Delevingne,  Joel Kinnaman among others.

It is projected to gross over $100 million in its debut weekend and eventually one of the highest grossing films of 2016 despite negative reviews. However, some box office analysts like Forbes‘ Scott Mendelson believe that the movie does not have to earn big worldwide to be considered a success. In Mendelson’s opinion Suicide Squad “which isn’t exactly cheap (at least $175m), could gross less than Batman v Superman and still be considered a ‘bigger’ success.”

Mel Gibson’s ‘The Passion of the Christ’ Sequel is in the Works

images-3

A follow-up to Mel Gibson’s 2004 hit biblical drama ‘The Passion of the Christ’ which will focus on Christ’s resurrection is being developed. This was confirmed by Gibson’s filmmaking partner of many years, Randall Wallace, who reluctantly revealed to The Hollywood Reporter that he has started writing a script for a sequel to the original movie, which THR referred to as the “most successful independent movie of all-time”.

The faith-based indie movie was reportedly the third highest grossing film of its year of release after ‘Shrek’ and ‘Spider Man’, earning $612 million worldwide off a $30 million budget.

Wallace, who confessed that the project is becoming too difficult to keep under wraps revealed that he and Gibson decided to start working on a sequel to ‘The Passion of the Christ’ while making ‘Hacksaw Ridge’, a World War II drama about military medic Desmond Doss. Wallace wrote the screenplay for ‘Braveheart’, ‘We Were Soldiers’ among others. He studied Religion at Duke University and says the resurrection is his specialty “I always wanted to tell this story”, he says. “The Passion is the beginning and there’s a lot more to tell”.

A sequel to ‘The Passion of the Christ’, 12 years later may make Mel Gibson resurrect like a phoenix from the ashes of his widely documented setbacks, according to some quarters. Neither Gibson nor his representative has commented on his involvement concerning the planned sequel. However, he reportedly stated during Liberty University’s commencement ceremony that he is interested in making a sequel to the original movie.

The Muhammad Ali biopic, ‘Ali’, starring Will Smith in the role of the boxing legend, is coming back to US cinemas, in honour of Muhammad Ali. The movie’s re-release by Sony Pictures will see it get screened this weekend in a few movie theatres, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

“With the passing of Muhammad Ali, we have received many requests for this film to return to theaters, in celebration of his life,” said Rory Bruer, president of Worldwide Distribution for Sony Pictures. “The film truly honors everything that made Ali one of the central figures of our time, a man who commanded his sport but whose personal faith and principles made him mean so much more.”
